Time- try to keep things 20 minutes or less, be straightforward. Size- need to be aware of your formality Occasion- Ask why are we here and match tone to what type of speech your giving. Knowledge- you will need to make things simple if you’re a good presenter. Simplify more complex topics. Be mindful of what you say in your speech and try to adjust what you say to be as clear, appropriate, and consistent as possible. VISUL AIDs keep simple and easy to read, do not make it overly contrasting or distracting. Simple borders, reasoned use in coloring, Easy to understand and simple to read, trim the unneeded items in aids, used as supplement to the presentation. Do not use it to replace your speech with presentations. Line- developments, trends or variances over time. Pie-highlights segments of a circle to show simple distribution patterns. Bar-uses horizontal/vertical, represents numerical data, sees similarities, differences and trends chart-summarizes a large block of information usually represented in list form hierarchal- shows structure of of company or organization. Flip- one chart at a time Prepare these well in advance, keep em simple, make sure large and easy to see, limited amount of text and use fonts, color, images effectively.
