Semester Essay Assignment Mariah Ritter Organizational Behavior 7.15.16 If you are not from planet earth then you are in for a treat because of the amazing concepts human organization has brought to this planet. Diversity is a huge topic in our world today. Diversity is when values and beliefs determine decisions in your life and determines the way you live your life. When dealing with diversity in the workplace it is important to balance different walks of life and insure dynamics are positive. Motivation is another subject that is important when it comes to human organizations. When employees are not motivated this slows the production process and also employees may leave causing the organization’s retention rate to drop. Without motivation you will not have the right workforce to handle the steps and tasks that need to be taken to meet the goals your organization has set. Motivation can be hard or easy to implement. Some companies have incentives for employees who excel at their jobs or meet certain deadlines. Having programs like incentives in place can boost motivation to get things done and get the ball rolling towards success. Performance management is the subject that helps track how well employees are doing within their role of your organization. When you have performance management you can easily track the success and failures of your employees and this can help your organization see where they need help and also where they excel. Performance management is essential to the success of your organization and how to make your organization better. Team work is very important in human organization. Within an organization or in your every day life, being able to work within teams is a skill that is very important. The efficiency of working in teams can determine if a deadline is met, if an organization is successful, or if your team fails. The vitality of working in teams is beyond measure of the success of your organization. They always say there is no “I” in “Team” and this saying could not be more true. You cannot accomplish by yourself. The work of your teammates and the concept of everyone working together efficiently leaves so much room for success and gain that success so much easier than gaining it on your own. Managing conflict is huge within the work place and organizations. Conflict is a hot topic that no one wants to have to deal with. But if conflict is not dealt with then this can lower job satisfaction, lower retention rates, and lower the production of the whole organization. If conflict is not dealt it can take a huge toll on the organization and will leave a big impact if the conflicts are not resolved. Communication leads off of resolving conflicts. Without communication nothing can flow right. Communication is the life line of the organization. Without communication there is no flow of how things need to be done right or the knowledge of the goals that need to be met. Without your employees knowing these things the organization will begin to crash and the success of the organization will rapidly fail. The creativity of the organization is what will set them apart amongst other organizations. This will allow the organization to be competitive and keep that edge that will allow them to be successful and at the top of the rankings. Creativity also allows new and fresh ideas to help expand the organization and allow growth. This opens up new positions which can allow retention to raise because employees can switch positions and not get burned out. All of these concepts help organizations and allow them to flourish. Without these subjects organizations would not be successful.
