Noelle Daumeyer Why do you think gaining skills in business & engineering is important to you and your career? (125 words max) When problems in the real world are addressed, looking at them from the perspective of only one field of study could limit the way in which they could be solved. In any company there is some sort of product or service. When employees understand not only what the product or service is, but how and why it works, I believe they can be more effective. I want to be able to acquire relevant skills and be well rounded wherever I decide to work. Describe a problem that interests you and your impression of the benefits and challenges of bringing business and engineering expertise together to address that problem. (125 words max) A more recent issue in the economy has been regarding minimum wage and whether or not it should be raised. While the cost of living seems to increase, most companies rely on low-income workers to sell affordable products and services. The management of these companies need to work with engineers to make everything more cost efficient so that there could be a greater profit and paying workers more wouldn’t cost other people their jobs.
