Their mission to help customers find solutions to their financial problems through “caring employees with unquestionable integrity.” The company encourages employees to assist customers in checking and savings accounts, mortgages, loans, and financial consulting. Research Problem : Heartland Bank is currently transitioning from traditional banking methods to the universal banking strategy. We were asked to develop a plan to comfortably transition employees to this new strategy while promoting employee engagement. Research Methods: The following research methods were used to conduct this study. Research Methods Secondary Research Websites (5) Articles (3) Databases (3) Textbooks (3) Cooperate Documents (4) Primary Research Personal Interviews (4) Competitor Interviews (2) Surveys (1) Key Findings: Below is a sample of our findings.  One of Heartland Bank’s biggest challenges is transitioning current, traditional banking styles to universal banking styles.  According to the Heartland Bank Best Places to Work Survey, Heartland’s weaknesses include employees’ disapproval of the Bank’s benefit packages.  Employee turnover rates are a weakness stemming from lack of opportunity for employees to advance in the company.  Service projects promote teamwork and employee satisfaction.  To create initiative in the workplace, associates must feel comfortable with managers and executives.  Heartland Bank must focus of catering to the needs of individual employees. Proposed Strategic Plan-Operation HEART 1. Launch a Cross-Training Program for Transitioning Employees 2. Provide Reimbursement for Universal Banker Certification 3. Assist Laid-Off Employees with Job Search Assistance through Dawson Employment Agencies 4. Host an Optional Quarterly Service Project 5. Host an Annual Appreciation Week 6. Provide Family Leave, Gym Membership, and Education Reimbursement Benefits Proposed Budget: The total investment needed to implement this plan is \$24,030. The costs are a result of the implementation of Operation HEART. The cost per month would be \$2002. Our strategic plan will improve employee satisfaction at Heartland Bank. Employees will gain a stronger emotional commitment to the organization and its goals.
