Elementary Psychology Course Overview Dr. John Achee firstname.lastname@example.org Office: Psychology 406 (706) 542-2174 Graduate Assistants Anna Hulett - email@example.com Tim Wanger – firstname.lastname@example.org Office Hours There are no set times for the purposes of office hours, but face to face sessions can be scheduled over email or before or after class. However, if possible, handle all problems via email. Attendance Attendance is not required but strongly recommended. Regular attendance is essential to preforming well in the class. Obviously, the more you come to class, the better you do on tests. Participation Participation is factored into your grade and every student is strongly recommended to do so. You will be required to participate in a psychological experiment conducted by the Department of Psychology. This will not be recorded for a course grade but will be marked as an incomplete if not done. Testing and Grading -There are 6 exams throughout the semester however there is no comprehensive final exam. Material will be straight from the book and lectures. The format will primarily be multiple choice with short definitions, multiple choice, fill in the blank, etc. -Missing an exam with an excused absence will result in having the score dropped. Missing an exam with an unexcused absence will result in a 0. No retakes. -There will be 3 short reaction papers throughout the semester that must be turned in typed, stapled and double spaced. Relate a psychological topic to something in your life. Do not use examples that Dr. Achee uses in class st nd even if they apply to your rdfe. Due dates: 1 Paper: Fri. September 30, 2 paper: Wed.
