General Purpose: To persuade Specific Purpose: To persuade the audience to donate to my cause Organizational pattern: Topical I. Introduction a. Everyone loves an animal in their life but there are animals out in the world that are being hurt. Villalobos is a Pit Bull rescue that has been around for ten years but may people do  not know what they do for the Put Bulls and other dogs that are there. Villalobos is a non profit organization that has not only helped over 2,000 animals find homes but they also  help people that have gone to jail get a job so they do not go back. b. I believe strongly that Villalobos should get the $100 donation because they are  swimming in debt trying to feed over 300 dogs and pay over 50 parolees. c. We will go over stories of the dogs that they have helped and some that they have not  been able to help because of the way people have treated the dog.  Transition: Lets talk about the debt that Villalobos has. II. Body A. Swimming in debt a. “It costs $1000/day to run Villalobos Rescue Center”(About us Pg). i. Villalobos has more dogs than they have money and because of this a lot  of dogs have to wait to get help. ii. Villalobos has gotten a lot of help by working with the veterinary hospitals that are out there and they will do an IOU if they do not have the money  for it at the time. iii. It costs over $700 for the Center to treat any dog for pests. Transition: There are happy and sad stories when working with Pit Bulls B. Stories about Dogs a. Happy Stories i. Blade He came from a hard background but someone had helped him find a happy home. He may not look mean but he was treated as if he was  something that was going to kill people. He was adopted on July 11, 2011, Happy and healthy dog. ii. Because of Villalobos Blade is in a loving family iii. Blanche She is 12 weeks old and had bowing in her front legs. iv. She had to go through may weeks in casts because they had to try and fix  what had happened to her v. Found in a sugar cane factory and was left to die vi. She now has a new home with a family that loves her more than sugar.  (her name means sugar). b. Not so Happy stories i. Cheech and Chong Chong died because of a tumor in his body and they  lived out there last days with the family that owns Villalobos. ii. People do not know this but they were bonded and shoved in a small cage  leaning on one another for hope that someone will help them out. iii. Villalobos had them as long as they lived because they were not able to  adopted them out as one dog because they were so close to one another. iv. Cheech and Chong had 3 families take them in and then return them. Transition: Let me share some facts in the myths that you think you know about pit bulls. C. Pitbull facts and Myths a. Facts i. “Pit Bulls do not have any special physical mechanism or enzyme that allows  them to “lock” their jaws”( ii. Pit Bulls are not vicious they can be but that is usually when a human has been  mean to them. iii. Pit Bulls are more lovers than fighters. b. Myths i. “Pit Bulls are all inherently vicious.”( ii. It is dangerous to adopt a Pit Bull iii. Pit Bulls just want to fight all the time Transition: “My mission is to rescue, my hope is that one day I wont have to.” (Tia torres). III. Conclusion A. I believe strongly that Villalobos should get the $100 donation because they are  swimming in debt trying to feed over 300 dogs and pay over 50 parolees. B. Villalobos Pit Bull Rescue Center has a lot of debt that they are swimming in because  they do not get money from the state like most pet centers.  C. We all deserve a second change, why shouldn’t animals get the same thing. Happy  endings should not just be a fairy tale.
