**NOTE: This is not a comprehensive, wordforword script. It is an outline of all the important points to cover for each slide.  S l i d Things to Cover    #   Jenna 1 JMU   . Give a few minutes for stragglers to join.  2 I attend JMU   There are  lots of notetakers from all over the country.  3 List off what you'll be covering    4 The problem our founders noticed was profs giving long lectures and  ambiguous about what would be on the tests. Textbooks are really expensive    and enormous.  5 who can define and spread success in the class, while also helping out the ers  Elite Notetakers for the help that they provide.    6 Read what's there, and add something from your own experience too!    7 Say..."As you can see its not just us that have noticed how great StudySoup  are creating a celebrity out of the individual educator. It's also cool to see    professors get on board and behind us in what we are doing."  8 We started in the Fall of 2014 with about 200 ENs, went up to about 700 ENs  16,000 ENs, and in the Spring, we jumped to over 150,000 Elite Notetakers.    Imagine where we’ll be after this semester!  9 Tell your own story of your experience with StudySoup.    Here is a breakdown of the leadership structure of the StudySoup community.  1 The cool thing is that being an Elite Notetaker is not the final destination of  0 opportunities, but rather the starting point. I started as an Elite Notetaker, and  while I still hold that position, I also have been given leadership opportunities    that has led to more experience on my resume, and a cool $20/hr.  1 You can pick 1 to 3 classes to take notes for. We recommend 2 for firsttime  1 ENs. (Describe the other points as they are on the slide, add a little detail and  make it personal!)    1 Describe how to pick classes, including what criteria you personally used to  2 choose the classes you were most successful in.    1 3 Let's dive a bit deeper into the requirements of the position...    Make sure they know:  1 provides classmates with sample work showing how helpful their materials are  4  To be considered an active EN you must upload at least 70% of the weeks in your semester/quarter Notes can be typed or handwritten  handwritten notes    can be photographed/scanned to upload    1 Make sure they know:  5  Create a unique study guide for each exam Post it to StudySoup at least 4  days befor  the exam    Make sure they know:   A link will pop up after notes are uploaded, which can be copied and sent out 1 to classmates The sample message can be copied as well, but we  6 recommend personalizing it Sending through the class messaging tool is  required and is the best way to reach out to students in your course  In    addition to the class messaging tool, they can share the link on social media  or hand out flyers, etc.    1 Make sure they know:   Any exam that is NOT the final exam is considered a Midterm when entering  7 an exam schedule into StudySoup      1 Make sure they know:   Anything they post to sell must be original material They cannot post  8 anything created by a professor or by a company, nor can they post answers  to exams (past or current)      1 Answer questions to the best of your ability. If a question is asked to which you do not know the answer, tell them to email you so that you don't forget about  9 it, then ask Elaine    2 0 Now let’s move onto the payment section...    Make sure they know:   The first upload for each class will be free to their classmates, which will get  more people looking at their materials and make them more money in the  2 future (i.e. make the first one great quality!) The base pay for each exam is  1 $25 There is a $100 bonus for being an active notetaker, which means  sticking to the 3 requirements throughout the semester     Must have at least 3 exams per course and upload at least 70% of weekly  notes to qualify for Bonus Only 3 exams per course qualify for $25 base pay   any more than 3 will only get commission from sales    Commission is $4 per set of notes sold, $8 per study guide sold.Generally we  2 see Notetakers making the most money from commission, earning an average of $125 per exam.  2   Base pay will be paid out to you 57 days after each exam Our system has to  2 check that the requirements were metCommission is paid out instantly 3 Payment can be paid out through PayPal or direct deposit (enter one OR the  other  if you enter both, the website will get confused and you might not get    your payment!)  2 Answer questions to the best of your abilityIf a question is asked to which you  4 do not know the answer, tell them to email you so that you don't forget about  it, then ask Elaine    2 5 Give the poll    Get them pumped to upload their first set of notes!! It can be any set of notes  2 from any class. This is just a test run to show them how it all works. You are  6 now going to paste a link into the webinar chat text. Tell them to click the link, and to follow the instructions from there.  Walk them through the process    using screenshare  Read off this list and make it personal/fun(i.e. remind them where the success  2 and the referral bonus!, and let them know that posting notes/study guides    obviously can wait until classes start)Before you go to the next slide: share  7 the link to the exam dates page and tell them to enter their exam dates if they  have them available, then continue to the next slide and answer any last    questions they may have  2 (and phone number if you want) is on the slide and that they can contact you  8 with any questions/comments/concerns they have.
