Running head: ANNOTATED REFERENCE LIST 1 Annotated Reference List Alexis Fenyves Grand Canyon University ANNOTATED REFERENCE LIST 2 Annotated Bibliography and Outline Sports and Exercise Psychology Review; 2013, 9 (1):6671 Pub: Great Britain, The British  Psychological Society, 2013. This article was a complete overview of the 2012 North American Society for the  Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity, otherwise known as the NASPSPA. This  years conference was held in Honolulu, Hawaii, actually a location that this coference is  typically held. Here topics of Sport Psychology are debated and discussed by some of the  top individuals in this field. The 2012 conference was significant because there was The  UEFA European Championships were also in play at the time, and attendance was still  great. There were 513 attendees from all across the world in the field of sports  psychology. Each day had a variety of great topics for example Day One opened with a  verbal session about performance and expertise. This article recaps the whole weekend  and how much of a success the conference was that year and how excited they were to go on to France for the 2013 conference. The main author of this review is a reliable source. Paradis has written many articles,  books and journals on sports psychology. Paradis is the main writer for the Sports and  Exercise Psychology Review, making him a reliable source in the field. This article is  somewhat biased focusing on only the good moments of the Conference, but it is possible that nothing major went wrong. Overall, Paradis focuses on the main points and topics  addressed at the conference making the article a good read for anyone in the field. ANNOTATED REFERENCE LIST 3 This source is useful in terms of wanting to know what sports psychologists discuss, and  can show anyone if they have some interest if the field is right for them. This information can be used in my paper because it shows the main topics for sports psychologists and  now knowing those, it’ll be easier to research those more in depth. This article provided  more insights regarding the topic of sports psychology, since not knowing much about  the topic. this article has helped given an overall view of the entire topic helping  understanding what the field does moving forward. Behavior Analysis: Research and Practice, Vol 15 (2), May, 2015. Pp. 148151. This article explains a little in depth of sport psychology, along with exercise psychology. This article differentiates between the two types of athletic psychologies in terms of what  they do, and how they do it. One similarity shown in the article is how they get to their  position of interest. They both go down the path of studying kinesiologybased graduate  programs and then train in whichever psychological program suits them best. Sports  Psychologists can do a variety of things from coaching youth sports, which is quite  interesting because they are setting the behavioral values for young athletes that they will  hold onto for the rest of their lives. Moving onto the exercise side of psychology, this is  where behavior therapy principles can be used to help with weight loss and moving up in  weight. Both of these types of Psychology do remarkable things for the young athletes  and those striving to do better. The American Psychological Association (APA) is a very credible source in the  Psychology world. They are the largest professional organization of psychologists in the  United States. There are roughly 137,000 members in this organization. This organization ANNOTATED REFERENCE LIST 4 is the main contributor to most psychological works. The info in this article presented by  the APA is not biased because it is basically describing what these types of psychologists  do, not if they do good work or bad work. This article is mainly informational and simply about what a sports or exercise psychologist does, not if their work is morally good or  not. This article can be very useful in a sense of differing the two types of athletic  psychology. There is some difference that can contrast sport psychology from exercise  psychology. This whole article shows what both do, which will help with showing  examples of both types of psychology. This article helps bring to my attention the  difference between the two and how each can be applied to the sports business field. Sports & Exercise Psychology Review. Sep 2015, Vol. 11 Issue 2, p82 4p. This article describes the process of becoming well involved in the field from the  perspective of a student. With more students wanting to be involved with sports, sport  psychology has opened another door for these students. This article goes through the  author’s advice about his journey in sports psychology. He emphasizes the many possible ways that they can be involved, mainly in youth sports because this is when the young  athletes need to develop a positive mind. This is a trend I have noticed in this field, that  youth sports is where most of the jobs are. This article is by the same industry who wrote the first article review, which is a very  credible source in the sport psychology field. This review company reviews the biggest  issues and occurrences in the field of sport psychology along with exercise psychology.  This company has shown some great ideas in sport psychology and has always stuck to  ANNOTATED REFERENCE LIST 5 the truth. They cover major conferences and are the go to review when it comes to this  field. This article will be extremely useful because it shows what exactly is a good path to get  to a high position in the field. This article helps show how students should get involved in the field early on in their career and where they can start building from there. This article  brought up some more insights on how important it is to gain experience, similar to any  other field, but it is better to gain experience that can be used for the future. Overall, this  article will be very useful to show where students should go after obtaining their degree.
