Alexis Westmoreland 8-31-16 Critical Thinking Activity and Discussion MW 9:30 I personally loved the fire model activity. I thought It was a brilliant exercise that really  helped in splitting the class up with similar minded people, that have the same way of processing their ideas within their minds. I also liked this model because it included everyone and all types  of thinkers in this model, which was really nice considering not many models do this. They  normally exclude the Golden Rods and the Beige thinkers. After doing this activity I discovered  that I am a Beige, otherwise known as evaluative, this is my dominant mode of thinking. Our  group came up with the term “caring” for ourselves. We are the thinkers that usually work better  in groups, we see everything through our emotions. We are considered the mediators of the  group, and usually are breaking up any arguments that tend to happen. We don’t like be in  problems. We address all issues by talking them out. Not only are we passionate and sympathetic we are also empathic, and literally feel the pain that others are feelings. All other thinkers tend to seek us for nonjudgmental help when they have trouble solving problems.  The Fire Model contains four key roles that each great, unique thinker does best. With all  these steps combined, you have a successful model put to use. The four steps of the fire model  include, step #1 being the green thinkers otherwise known as “factual” They collect all the data  necessary to solve the problem. Step #2 includes the light yellow thinkers or “rational” these  thinkers structure all of the data, to make it meaningful in the problem solving solution process.  The next step, #3 is the beige thinkers, “evaluative” these are the people who engage in constant  evaluation to insure the solution which most improves lives. Finally, the 4  step uses the golden  rod thinkers also known as “insightful” these people do the final step which propels problem  Alexis Westmoreland 8-31-16 Critical Thinking Activity and Discussion MW 9:30 solvers to a new, but similar problem. This is what makes the problem solving process continue  on and on forever. All the knowledge I learned with defiantly be a huge help to me in the real world, also  school, work and personal situations. After doing this activity I am able to realize what thinkers  my peers, coworkers, and professors all are. This can help me out in the long run to be able to  adjust and, or just understand someone else’ point of view or way of teaching and learning. I  now have a better understanding that there are other ways to process than only my way of  thinking,
