Week 2 Day 3: Art for Social Change We entered the class to Honor Thy Mother by Alexa Meade, Jon Boogz and Lil Buck - Understanding this class o Bloom’s Taxonomy We’ll be creating our own comics using an icon that represents an aspect of ourselves. (the icon should be clear) Ex: Shoes What do you have to say about you? - Logistics for Next Week o Our assignment for Thursday is a comic that has an icon that represents us o Marcus Young is coming – Do You Feel It Too? Week 2 Day 4: Creative Assignments: Comics and Preparing for Picture You We entered the class to vimeo videos playing in a playlist format. - Linda shared a little bit about her grandmother on her Romanian side. - Assignment 1 Review o We were handed back our Assignment 1 Written Responses on the first three authors with notes. This assignment was out of 2 points. o As a class we saw some “quality” responses (read aloud by the authors of them) o Some writing suggestions were made regarding the Picture You Assignment coming up - Comic Assignment o Group sharing – the class made its way to the back of the room and sat at 4 tables. We each shared our comics with our table groups. o Viewing – we got up and walked around to look at all of the comics o Questions and Comments from the Artists – we went table by table and opened it up to ask questions and make comments about the different comics to their artists. 5 minute Break - Picture You Assignment Overview  3 page true story about you  Sharing an experience paired with an image (photograph, drawing, collage, etc.) nd  Due at the beginning of class Thursday September 22 o Examples 1) Week 2 2) 3) o Collective Brainstorm of Themes  Fun lost with age  Personal connection to the natural world  Lack of belonging (self-awareness) - Logistics for Next Week o Do You Feel It Too? – we all have different relationships to the public.
