Substantive Response to Technology in Health Care 1 Substantive Response to Technology in Health Care Tracee M. Albert University of Louisiana at Monroe    HLST 2001          September 11, 2016 Hannah, I really enjoyed reading your essay because of the points you made on the  evolution of technology and health care. I agreed with the last sentence in your first paragraph  Substantive Response to Technology in Health Care                                                                     2 when you stated, “These impacts in medicine make what once seemed to be unheard of and  impossible very possible in today’s world.” That statement is very true, as stated in my essay, “In some health care systems, patients can now directly download their laboratory reports and  medical records, which they were never allowed to do in the past.” (US News, 2013). Without  technology, we would not have access to medical devices such as heart monitors and electronic  medical records; which makes the job for the doctor much more easier and efficient.  Although I agree with your ideas on technology helping health care develop, I disagree  with your statement referring to health care being at a standstill without it. Health care was and  still is always progressing and developing, granting technology does however, allow it to  develop at a faster and more convenient rate. Being that it allows health care to develop at a  faster rate, it also allows the research taken to be shared to different hospitals, and even to the  public. Technology being intertwined with health care benefits more than just doctors, nurses  and medical businesses and hospitals, but it benefits the public as well.  I also agree with your standpoints on how health care is perceived when dealing with  low, middle classes and those that were in the military. Depending on your social status, there  are some benefits that you may or may not receive from the government. There are also some  medical devices and medicine that you are and are not able to receive due to social statuses.  Being that our world is so much more advanced, it is sad that there aren’t other ways to provide  those that are not eligible for certain medications and devices they need.  Overall Hannah, I really enjoyed reading your essay. You had a lot of points and ideas  that I agreed with and shared in my essay, as well.
