Chapter 7    Le passe compose avec etre   Je  suis  Verbes  netre    retourner  tomber  Tu  es  aller  venir  rentrer  entrer  Il/Elle/On  est  amuser  revenir  rester  coucher  Nous  sommes  mortir  devenir  entendre    Vous  etes  lever  arriver  partir    Ils/Elles  sont  mourir  monter  sorir      ­ Generally used with verbs of movement  ­ Verb agrees with subject. Elle est partie ​ ​ hier soir.   ­ Reflexive pronoun comes before the conjugated etre       Le pronom “y”  ­ Takes the place of there in a sentence  ­ Ex Ta soeur est en France? Oui, elle y est.  ­ Your sister is in France? Yes she is there.  ­ Y is placed in front of the conjugated verb in the present and passe compose   ­ In the future form or when the two verbs are relative to each other, y is placed in  front of the infinitive. Ex. Je vais y aller. I am going there.     Venir De  ­ Venir­ to come; venir de­ to come from  Je  viens  Nous  venons  Tu  viens  Vous  venez  Il/Elle/On  vient  Ils/Elles  viennent  ­ Venir de is used to describe where a person is from. De is used with feminine places,  and du is used with masculine places.
