Class Notes Psychology-Study of human activity and behavior  You would assume we know how humans work since we are humans… but we done Psychology is natural and courier Intuitive  We tell ourselves something is absolutely true nut, it actually only happens sometimes Critical thinking  Dr. Oz is not always right! He gets paid to promote medicines.  Evaluate information for the information itself  We look for evidence for what we already believe  After shootings, we say “ we should have seen that coming” but no one actually noticed.- Hindsight bias  Self-Serving Bias- we tend to see ourselves as higher than we actually are. Not-So-Scientific Foundations  Early philosophers thought your brain/ mind was separated from our physical body  No thoughts when brain shuts down Verging-on-scientific- foundations  They thought when someone said something it was truth  Functionalism- looking at people’s behavior
