National Economy­ The economy of an entire country. ­Macroeconomics focuses on national economy  ­National government policies. Flow Variable­ Concerned with an amount per unit of time. Ex:  ­Wealth­ stock­ No time element attached. such as (100,00) would be an amount. ­Income­ Flow (100,00 a year)­> unit of time. ­Wealth is what you have. Income is what you get. Investment: In general means putting money into something to receive in the future. ­We invest in stocks, real estate, and bonds, ­We invest in something that holds value. ­In economics involves business’s building new capacities. Producing goods and services. ­Circular flow of economic activity model: Does not include Government or Financial sector.   Stocks: Ownership claims. Buying a share. Stock market. Bond: A loan, Debt, Bond Market. Contractions= Recession / Depression Expansions= Expanding / Moving upward in economy.
