I'm going to class. ex) Ils vont à Pairs. They are going to Paris. La préposition "à"- to, at, or in Frequently used with "aller" and "être" à + le = au à + la = à la à + l' = à l' à + les = aux Day Twenty-Four absent- no notes Day Twenty-Five Les verbes pronominaux Reflexive verbs je me nous nous tu te vous vous il/elle/on se ils/elles se Common verbs se dépêcher to hurry up s'habiller to get dressed se préparer to prepare oneself se relaxer to relax se retrouver to meet up with se coucher to go to bed se lever to get up ex) se relaxer je me relaxe nous nous relaxons tu te relaxes vous vous relaxer il/elle/on se relaxe ils/elles se relaxent ex) se lever je me lève nous nous levons te tu lèves vous vous levez il/elle/on lève ils/elles lèvent *For se lever, you have to remember to add accent grave for je, tu, il/elle/on, and ils/elles, but not for nous and vous -It helps to remember that the accents also change for those subjects when you conjugate the verb "préférer" Negative: ex) Je ne me lève pas. Comment dire l'heure et parler de son emploi de temp ex) Il est dix heures du matin. It is ten A.M./It is ten in the morning. ex) Il est dix heures du soir. It is ten P.M./It is ten at the night ex) Il est neuf herures et qaurt. It is nine fifteen. ex) Il est huit heures vingt-cinq. It is eight twenty-five. ex) Il est six heures et demie. It is six thirty. ex) Il est de l'après-midi. It is three in the afternoon ex) Il est quatre heures moins le qaurt. It is three forty-five. ex) Il et midi. It is noon. ex) Il est minuit. It is midnight. *The French use a twenty-four time system, so familiarize yourself with military time if you don't already know it by adding whatever time it is plus twelve. Faire- to do, to make je fais nous faisons tu fais vous faites il/elle/on fait ils/elles font Day Twenty-Six Le futur proche (the future tense) aller + l'infinitif = le futur proche ex) Je vais étudier ce soir. I am going to study tonight. Common phrases associated with le futur proche ce soir this evening la semaine prochaine next week demain tomorrow demain matin tomorrow morning More examples: Nous allons faire du ski. We are going to ski. Tu vas faire stage cet éte. You are going to do an internship this summer. Il ne va pas travailler. He is not going to work. Vous n'allez pas jouer au football. You are not going to play soccer Jouer + de + l'article definis + l'instrument ex) Je joue de la guitare ou je joue du piano. I play guitar or I play piano. Jouer + à + l'article definis + le sport ex) Il joue au tennis ou vous jouez aux cartes. He plays tennis or you play cards
