Muscles Week 2 (Week 6 of class) External Intercostal (A): In-between each rib. Internal Intercostal (B): Directly below the external intercostal between each rib. External abdominal oblique: First layer of abs. Muscles runs down diagonally from left to right. Internal abdominal oblique: Second layer of abs. Muscles runs down diagonally from right to left. Transverse abdominis: Thirst layer of abs. Muscles run up and down. Rectus abdominis: Looks like the stereotypical “six pack”. Muscles Week 2 (Week 6 of class) Linea Alba: ONLY IN MALES! Holds the shaft of the penis. Sits below the rectus abdominis. Longissimus System (longissimus dorsi): Muscle that runs directly below the spine.
