and they see his brother walking on the road The brother pulls over enthusiastically greets the brother then makes his wife and kids get out of the car they were all pile in the back seat as he drive with him and his brother only This sequence is done with a hand held camera the camera draws attention to itself in the way it shows the images How are we introduced to the characters Shows that his of films that are trials of a clever idea limited by tight budgets The DoOver Man on a bicycle a 167 film titles are showing as the man rides his bike in IV cut to in the book store a man comes in to sell books He asks to speak to the manager The guy behind the counter looks at a girl in the store as the man at the counter gives him a pill to give to his manager The man leaves the girl buys a book and leaves The guy behind the counter eats the pill Suddenly there s a flash back The girl comes in and gives him the book asks what he s reading He changes his book from twilight to mark twain he asks the guy for pills for his boss buys his own tic tacs for himself the pills say do over lots of shots of moments he dos over with the girl they end up hiding himself from her then he gets stuck in a moment where the girl who s trying to confess her love to him while the guy who sells the pills coming into the shop and finding out his manager hadn t been buying the pills he does this moment over and over but can t get it right He ends up telling the girl she does deserve perfect and swallows all the pills and ends up at the beginning moment of the film he tells the guy selling the pills that he s not interested then when the girl buys her book and asks if he looks familiar he says that they used to date but he did too many pills and didn t let her see the real him end the sound editing and cinematography create a unique flavor to this short Thursday June 5 2014 Another student film is shot completely by a dumpster in IV student film a doover science fictionfantasy on a shoe string budget Bottom of the Bottle Usually good actors are hard to find here these kids are pretty good shot of moon graphically cuts to a shot of a pool ball in a bar we move around the bar as black credit screens are shown we revolve around a guy in a red sweatshirt drinking then walking around the bar We follow him closely behind he leaves the back of the bar and comes to where the dumpsters are we see his face for the first time he vomits suddenly the music stops and we hear diabetic sound for the first time a guy leaning against the other dumpster watches him he tries to lit his cigarette but his lighter doesn t work He asks the vomiting guy for a light the drunk guy gives him one in a drunk fashion the smoking guy says red shirt guy looks like shit he asks why he looks like shit Red shirt guy says do I need a reason smoking guy says you don t need one but we all got them red shirt guy doesn t talk smoking guy Mikey guesses it s a woman red shirt guy Rob says what if it s just life Mikey says thats just a given another man runs out mikey wonders aloud what his problem is This is Jim who starts peeing on the wall Jim sits down next to Rob Jim put his hand in Robs vomit Jim is roommates with Rob he asks why they are out there cut to girls stumbling out of the bar Jim says easy Mikey asks Jim why he s out here Thursday June 5 2014 Jim says Jaeger bombs Mikey says no that s not it Mikey then guesses you you got nothing better to do Jim asks Mikey what about you Mikey is there for a woman Another man throws up while his friends take pictures of him Mikey bets that it s his first time Jim says you re on Jim loses the bet music plays over a montage as mikey and Jim bet on which of the following drunk patrons are drunk for which reason Jim and Mikey get along well and keep trading cigarettes as they winlose bets Rob sits by his dumpster quietly Then a guy comes out throwing his bottle to the wall Mikey says 4 stick says he lost his job Rob finally speaks up challenges for 6 sticks They watch the guy Rob says it s a broken heart drinking to forget Mikey says he knew it Rob says you don t know shit Mikey asks for the story Rob says that he d gone his whole life thinking there d be magic Then he says after harsh realizations the world has lost it s fire only smoke left He says there is no real lovepassion jus that he points to the drunk guy he says theres just pieces Mikey says fairytales are just fantasies Rob says maybe but maybe thats all they re really looking for Rob picks up a bottle drinks the last of it Mikey says you were looking in there and Rob says you weren t they sit silently Jim looks at Mikey until Mikey throws his pack to rob saying Rob wins After a beat Jim says dick and they laugh Mikey pulls out a wedding band puts it on his finger silently Thursday June 5 2014 Rob looks up at a moon suddenly a cheesy phone tone comes on Mikey says it s the wife he says he ll be back and he takes it Jim leaves saying he wants to be back before last call Says it was interesting and that he ll see Rob tonight Rob stays outside leaning against the dumpster Mikey comes back asks cheekily for a light Rob says it was a nice moon out that night Mikey says that s a beautiful reflection on life then mikey asks what happens when a star dies sometimes it ll just become one big ball of carbon Rob asks what s so special about that Mikey says that that s what diamonds are made of Rob asks where did you learn that bull Mikey laughs says it s a great way to pick up chicks Rob says it s a shame that things are more beautiful when you39re drunk Mikey says perspective a couple of drunk come out of the bar they kiss Mikey and rob watch silently Mikey says love Rob says you think so Mikey says yeah i do then he turns to rob asks if he found anything in there the bottle rob says i don t know Mikey says I guess we re all still looking Rob says worth a try they go for another beer the end credits are shown as words written on a drunk Jim waking up in the bathroom Brusutti asks if this is a character driven or plot driven film Character driven Stereotypes Heart broken guy drunk guy and philosopher Shakespeare characters Adapting them to the isla vista scene philosophizing about life in general Thursday June 5 2014 the setting is really good they re dressed well next to these extremely grungy teach cans doesn t end with a resolution ends with them doing exactly what they were doing before smoking drinking Short film presented at Reel Loud Viking Funeral My dear Tobias credit titles A girl has red on her hands the over credits say what am i to do with you gone we realize she s talking about her fish we see her red hands are from making the funeral box it s over dramatic sadness with a fake plastic fish and a burial there are flashback memories of cleaning his tank and when he killed this other fish a month anniversary she says that month anniversary the fish may have mistook the decorations for food she googles how to know if the fish is sick shows what she did to try and save her fish these flashback scenes are all cross cutter with giving the fish a viking burial in the IV pond flashback shows how she woke up and that there was only so much a fish can take that he was dead how it was hard to believe shows her trying to give him cpr In the end he received a Viking s funeral a screen on in loving memory of her fish then the camera reveals many more fish burial boxes in the pond What s going to be on the final 2 questions choice of 2 clips won t be up or the celebrations will be one of the other films
