Dustin Howerton Entrepreneurship 2900 Prof Wilson 1 01 v O v ENTREPRENEUR INTERVIEW Were your parents relatives or close friends entrepreneurial What business did they own My father also owned his own distributing company like mine My mother owned CCH Medical Care where she handled workers compensation cases What was your educational background How did that help you in your business Actually I have my bachelor degree in aerospace and am a fully licensed pilot However this did not help me whatsoever in my business Were you involved in entrepreneurship at a young age Yes like I said earlier my father owned a similar business to mine so growing up I helped him run his business and he also taught me about it as we worked together Why did you decide to start your current business Afterl graduated from MTSU in the fall of 2007 there were not very many jobs in the aerospace industry so I talked to my father and he introduced me to Mckee Foods I bought a route and started my own distributing company called Mcnamee Distributing Since there weren t any places hiring I had to think on my feet and gure a way to make money because my school loans and bills were piling up How did you get the money to start your business I got my start up cost from three different sources The rst was from my personal bank account The second was from my oldest brother who I borrowed the money to buy my truck and other various items I needed The last one was through a bank loan What are the most significant problems your business encounters A main problem I have with distributing food is the stale which is product that has run out of date that cannot sell to customers 11411
