History 364 Study Guide 0 Movies 0 Happiness I Plot 0 When a young woman rejects her current overweight suitor in a restaurant he unexpectedly places a curse on her The lm then moves on to her sisters One is a happily married woman with a psychiatrist husband and three kids Unfortunately the husband develops an unnatural fascination for his 11 year old son s male classmates fantasizes about mass killing in a park and masturbates to teen magazines One of his patients has an unrequited fascination for the third sister Meanwhile the apparently stable 40 year marriage of the sister39s parents suddenly unravels when he decides he has had enough and wants to live a hermit s life in Florida Obviously the whole movie is slightly warped in its viewpoint and certainly presents abnormal relationships among all of its parties I Main Characters 0 Bill 0 Trish 0 Joy 0 Helen o A Raisin in the Sun I Plot 0 Walter Lee Younger is a young man struggling with his station in life Sharing a tiny apartment with his wife son sister and mother he seems like an imprisoned man Until that is the family gets an unexpected financial windfall I Main Characters 0 Walter C Lena 0 Ruth 0 Beneatha o The Graduate I Plot 0 The action is mainly seen through the eyes of Benjamin Braddock a confused twentyone year old who is worried about his future but who does not simply want to follow the commercial path of his af uent family and their friends His life becomes complicated when he is embroiled in an affair with an older woman Mrs Robinson the wife of his father s business partner It becomes impossible when he falls in love with Mrs Robinson s daughter Elaine I Main Characters 0 Ben 0 Mrs Robinson Elaine 0 Ordinary People 0 Falling Down Plot 0 Beth Calvin and their son Conrad are living in the aftermath of the death of the other son Conrad is overcome by grief and misplaced guilt to the extent of a suicide attempt He is in therapy Beth had always preferred his brother and is having difficulty being supportive to Conrad Calvin is trapped between the two trying to hold the family together Main Characters Plot Calvin Beth Conrad Dr Berger William Foster AKA DF ENS is an unemployed divorced engineer in the defense industry who39s reached his boiling point First he finds himself in gridlock which he deals with by abandoning his car He subsequently happens across an unhelpful convenience store clerk whose prices DFENS 39rolls back by demolishing the store with a baseball bat after overpowering the clerk Soon he finds himself in gangland and deals with some toughlooking gang members by attacking them and running them off When the gang members try to retaliate it fails when they crash their car and DFENS takes their bag full of guns Unfortunately for him a retiring cop is on his trail and soon things will come to blows as DFENS heads towards Venice for his young daughter s birthday party Main Characters 0 Thirteen Plot William DFENS Detective Prendergast Tracy Freeland is a thirteenyearold girl who just wants to fit in To do so she must make friends with the most popular girl in the 7th grade Evie Zamora It s not as easy as it sounds when Evie peer pressures Tracy into doing things such as stealing drugs piercings and seX far from the Tracy everybody seems to know But as Evie and Tracy s friendship gets closer Tracy s old self drifts farther and farther away from her family and neighborhood friends where it s up to her mother to finally step in Main Characters Tracy Melanie Evie Books 0000000 0 Please Don t Come Back from the Moon Crabgrass Frontier Revolutionary Road Golden State Golden Youth Less than Zero Our Town City of Quartz Another Planet Suburban Nation Lectures
