Tuesday March 22, 2016 Chapter 8 Why do you join groups? To achieve common goals. To get multiple perspectives. More efficient and able to generate a greater outcome. Networking and creating connection. Increase the quality of work, since you can divide tasks based upon strengths. Easier to hold yourself accountable to a group as opposed to only yourself. Do groups always work out? No. Individuals don’t put as much effort into the group work since someone else will pick up their slack. Communication and coordinating issues. Difference between groups and teams: Teams – more of a cohesive unit; longterm. Groups – temporary.
