What to Expect During Residential Interior Design If you are a busy professional and have just moved into a new home, you may need an interior designer to come in and help you with the decorating of your home. You do not even have to have moved to a new place; maybe the look of your current home needs an overhaul. Or maybe you are not a busy professional but you have no idea where to start when it comes to interior designing. No matter your reasons, you have a number of options available to you when it comes to enlisting these services. If it is your first time contemplating residential interior design, there are a few things that you should expect with the project. 1. When you are having your first consultation with your interior designer, they will want to pick your brain. In as much as you may not know where to start with the project, everyone inherently has some type of vision for their living space. The first consultation will be a chance for the designer to try and establish what that vision is. They will ask you your thoughts on your living space, the feelings that your home evokes in you, your favorite colors and so on. During this first consultation, ensure you also have a chat about the budget. This way, the designer will know from the beginning the resources that they have to work with and will try to stick to that budget. Having a budget does not mean that you will get a substandard design though. It simply means that the designer has to make practical choices when redecorating your living space. 2. The next thing that you should expect is the strategy that the designer will have when it comes to decorating your home. Some designers will take on residential interior design on a room-by-room basis whereas others may decide to work on several rooms simultaneously. It does not matter what process they choose as at the end of the day the work will be done. What this could affect though is your budget. If you will not have a steady flow of cash, you would be best advised to opt for the room-by-room approach as that way you can have a room completed before spending money on another. If your budget is unlimited though then you can have the entire house redesigned in one go and thus have it all completed in one go too.
