This city is an incredible resource. It's pricey but in my opinion having taken art or fashion classes at other school, this school blows them out of the water. They are very conceptual though which can be challenging so if thats not your style then its not for you. Its the perfect school if you are though, this ain't no RISD cookie cutter art school nonsense. You can guarantee your success there and beyond if you are self driven and know how to really take advantage of the resources. If you need a lot of guidance and need your hand held in order to graduate, you will likely fail. ...Continue reading

I like it here, but I don't love it here. In some classes the formal elements of art are focused on but in most classes the reasons behind the work are more important. The variety of classes offered is excellent. The effort you put in will reflect in your work and the class. Don't expect to get something out of no effort. ...Continue reading

SAIC is a wonderful college. The campus is a fully integrated part of the city which provides a unique environment and opportunity to learn. There is an amazing amount of technology resources completely at our disposal. Professors are amazing, people are interesting and unique. Like anything else, you'll get out what you put in. The cafeterias could be better but the menu varies. Would be nice if they had more healthy options. The campus location is really in the heart of chicago and people are very helpful. Very demanding and time consuming but if art is your passion it is totally worth it. Teachers also become really good contacts. ...Continue reading

Awesome art school with an INSANE amount of resources. You will learn so much that you would never have expected to have an interest in, and you will be around so many different types of people with such scary levels of skill. It's almost intimidating until you realize that everyone's here for the same reasons and it's more about collaboration than competition. ...Continue reading

This school really is for artists who love conceptual work. Classes are fun and most teachers are great but would like it more if it was an enclosed campus, thats just my personal opinion. People are friendly but can be judgmental leading to segregation. Would like more clubs and extracurricular activities. Location is extremely convenient though ...Continue reading

Noah's a good teacher. He's very knowledgeable about artists of today and traditional artists. He may seem stern at first, (he does look a bit intimidating), but he's actually very kind and goes out of his way to answer questions. He's approachable and if you e-mail him, including on weekends, he'll respond within a few hours or immediately. ...Continue reading
