    I was a little skeptical about going to a school in the CSU system at first. Great professors (mostly). Also the gym has spa, pool, rock climbing as well as other work-out equipment. Very nice campus. Japanese garden is a must to see! People are open minded here and they are open to change.     Cannot express how much I love this school. The professors are amazing and are very invested in their students' success. There are a lot of research opportunities here, but unlike more well-known research universities, like UCLA, the professors' number one priority is TEACHING, as it should be.     Horrible teachers in the CBA. It's a commuter school so don't expect the whole college experience unless you actually get involved with on-campus activities and organizations. Get started by visiting the Student Life and Development office to see what orgs and clubs you can join. Make the best of it. Overall, and great campus. I love CSULB.     Between the gym and the very diverse campus, it is the place to go. I fell in love with this place when I lived in the dorms. If you have some common sense and a hint of social ability then you can come up with life long friends and experiences. I miss this place every day! IS. HORRIBLE.     In the campus, there are many opportunities and if you take the time, you will be able to enjoy every year here at Cal State. Yes it is a commuter camopus, but there is plenty of opportunities to connect and socialize on campus if you are willing to stay. Many of the professors are very helpful and are committed to students success.     If you're not living on campus or aren't an orange county native,your time here will be rough, long, boring, and expensive because of all the parking tickets your'll get, depending on how demanding your field of study is. People tag on the walls, the janitors don't provide the building with maintenance and the elevator takes forever. Whats worse is the small lab.     Our internet isn't that bad, everyone over-exaggerates so much. i hate the area but the campus is beautiful and stimulating. the professors are encouraging and there is an atmosphere of learning.     I'm absolutely in love with our campus. I really do. I don't know why everyone complains about the internet, I've never had an issue and you don't know terrible internet till you do foreign exchange and THAT campus is half the size of CSULB and you can't stay connected even at the library, so count your blessings for real.     I'm an engineer and CSULB is rated as having one of the best engineering programs in the country and it shows. I've always wanted to go to a prestigious university and I am glad I decided to go to CSULB! It's a great campus with a lot to do. There should never be reason to ever be bored! Love the library and computer lab. There's lot's of school spirit and lot's of friendly people. Feels just like home. GO BEACH! :) The counselors are very helpful and there are lots of clubs to help you get involved. People who complain about it being socially dead haven't really spoken to their peers, or joined any clubs. There's plenty to find. Residence hall food sucks, but the dorms themselves are nice. So many places to explore on campus. Friendly environment.     As a business major, we have our own little community in the far corner of campus. The ATLAS counselors are phenominal, a lot of clubs to join if you want to get involved.     I'm only a freshman but it's an amazing school I haven't had any issues with teachers. The rec center is very nice. The dorms are decent. The nugget, the on campus grill/pub, is very good. I think this is one of the most underrated colleges not only in California but across the US. 49'ers have a good tradition of success in all sports. The pyramid is a great venue.
