I attended two semesters of the master's program in Justice Studies, I had little to no support by the JS office staff as well as most of the professors. Average school at best. Most teachers average, a few terrible, a couple great. More like a trade school- you learn just enough to land a job, but little in the way of interesting research or cutting edge technology. Poor administrative support (office staff, bursars, admissions, student affairs, etc.) Average learning outcome. ...Continue reading

It is a good school filled with professors that are wonderful! Coming from SoCal the transition to a commuter school in the bay area was a poor decision. Although a commuter school, the campus is beautiful. The professors show much hospitality towards their students and I have met the greatest of friends, 4/5. The football team needs help. The grounds are nicely kept most of the time when there's isn't construction (which there's almost ALWAYS construction). The food around campus and in campus are decent. Everything else (teachers, living areas, etc.) about it is just MEH. It's not good, not bad... Just existing. ...Continue reading

Nothing great. Was never in the dorms but I heard that there's no sense of community going on in there. Part of the reason for this is that the mentality here is not very academically focused everyone is very work focused and has school as a side dish here. They need to make major changes in that department. For the last 3 years administration has screwed up my Financial Aid. I complete and submit documents early, and I check MYSJSU and they still find some way to cheat me out of my F. Aid. Something needs to be done. ...Continue reading

The above ratings aren't nuanced enough... The new buildings are really nice. Some of the older buildings kind of depress me. Some Cafeteria has some decent spots. Every cuisine has a generic style restaurant. There's also a taco bell, panda express, and jamba juice. I think were getting a subway and some more places too. School is O.K. ...Continue reading

I absolutely love this university. I might miss it. SJSU seems to really be what you make of it. I had some rough semesters but those were my own fault but I've also had good semesters when I worked hard and sought out fun and new things. All in all it has everything you need if you take advantage of what it really offers. ...Continue reading

My only complaint is about the Administration in the Student Services Center. There has been two suicides at the campus library in the past two years. There was a drive-by shooting off of 10th street resulting in one death. It seems like every week there is a sexual battery that occurs. There is a high frequency of mentally unstable on campus and specifically the library. ...Continue reading

Many companies come specifically here to recruit and for good reason, we have been shown to be able to have amazing character and resourcefulness. We also have a few mad awesome tailgate parties for games. are absurd and make you wish you went to private school. If you need to get something sorted, good luck because you're about to get the run-around. Their website is a joke which is unacceptable since they're in Silicon Valley.

She is the nicest professor I have ever taken in SJSU. She tries hard to engage students but it never really works. Even students who like the subject find it hard to tuned in and they eventually phased out halfway through lecture. However, not a hard class at all. Easy A! She may be inesperienced but it looks like she cares her students and is always available to explain more. The class is not difficult if you show interest and respect for her role.
