UOP should be your dream school to attend to, it's faculty, professor and students are all AWESOOME. I can honestly say I still love it here at Pacific. In Greek Life & have many positions and opportunities to challenge me. This school is academically rigorous, I always see a lot of people in library. This school is absolutely atrocious. It is under supported and the stress of this is overwhelming the staff (which are also our advisors) and therefore the stress impacts the students experience of this program. I would suggest this program for students who teach themselves and don't need teachers or classes to learn. I transferred because I was so miserable. Honestly, DO NOT go here. It has one of the highest transfer rates out of any university on the west coast. It's so bad and so dangerous and SO not worth your time or money. ...Continue reading

Pacific provides great opportunities/accelerated programs. There will always be small things to complain about no matter where you go. Lookin for the party scene? In my four years of attending here, I have had the worst time with teachers and other students and the environment/surrounding area around the school. End of my Junior year. There are so many good, wholesome, unique people that go to school here. The people are what make UOP so great because even though it is in Stockton, UOP more than makes up for it in character. I enjoy being in a smaller campus as you can develop more personal relationships with the students and faculty here. Everyone here is so friendly and people look out for each other here. There isn't much of a competitive atmosphere among students. Only issue is that the local area isn't safe to walk at night. ...Continue reading

I took Prof. Hooper for 51, and she's definitely not as bad as what some of these reviews portray her to be. Despite having the tendency to go off topic during lecture, her lecture slides were pretty straight forward. The only issue that I would warn about is her grading criteria for exams. For FRQ, she gives credit based off usage on vocab. terms ...Continue reading

She is the best teacher at Pacific. She tells students how it is only to challenge them to meet their full potential, never take her criticism as personal. You the feedback you receive to become a better student. Make sure you go to her office hours. If she brings up presenting at research conferences take advantage of the opportunity! ...Continue reading

Dr. Hooper is an amazing Bio professor. Her midterms are a bit difficult if you don't study in advance but her final is very easy by comparison. She is caring and I recommend going to her problem set sessions as they are used for FRQs. Ignore her negative reviews, many people are mad at her for taking action against people cheating in her class. ...Continue reading

My favorite professor at UOP. He gives amazing lectures and really cares about his students and makes sure you understand the material. If you go to lecture, you'll be fine for the tests and definitely don't need the book. Go to class b/c he sometimes gives an EC point on the exam! Exams are super fair and provides lots of practice! He is always down to talk football and is the most clear lecturer I have had. His class is hard but thats bio. He has quizzes worth extra credit so go to class. I wish I tried harder. ...Continue reading

Hooper isn't that hard but her lectures are a complete waste of time. Just make flash cards of her bolded terms so you don't have to hear bad puns and tangents. Cares more about her reputation than her students and makes this very clear. Multi choice is vaguely worded and FRQ's are just information regurgitation. I would not take her again. Her grading of exams is extremely inconsistent. She'll give people zero points and others points for essentially the same answer. Unless it is her exact right answer, you're going to get zero points for the free response. Partial credit? Forget it. ...Continue reading

Wouldn't recommend him. He has no handouts for his class, especially when you have to memorize 50 plant names, genus, and species for 2 of his unannounced quizzes. I also took him for physics 23 over the summer! He is not the greatest lecturer, but if you ask him for clarification after lecture he is definitely more helpful. He cares a lot about his students passing and makes it quite easy for you to do well. He drops your lowest test score, adds extra credit to the final, and gives extensions on webassign! ...Continue reading

One of the nicest professors on campus, but if you can avoid his class. . . I would suggest doing so! Grade is based on 2/3 Exams + Final + Labs. He seems very unorganized and gets really frustrated when things go wrong. Although he is more than willing to help you understand the material, he is rather quick and will most likely confuse you more! ...Continue reading

Managerial Accounting was a breeze. Professor Chen is very helpful and clear about the material. Quizzes are the most difficult part of the course and if you attend lecture, they will be a piece of cake! Midterms are even easier #cheatsheet. She's really nice and wants to help, but she's not really good at it. If you aren't very math-minded this class will not be fun because she expects everyone to be proficient. She confuses herself often and asks the class what to do. Tests are way more difficult than homework as she doesn't fully explain concepts and expects you to figure it out. Seems to mess up on class problems alot and has to have students correct her. Assigns homework 3 times a week. Also gives a worksheet after every class. Most of your grade is based on tests. Doing bad on one test can really hurt you. Also a side note her test problems are like the homework problem times 10,seriously! ...Continue reading

The work isn't hard and there isn't a lot. Talks the whole time, very one-sided, ignores students, looks down. Had her for the photography and advocacy pac sem, she treats it like a photography history class we rarely discuss anything. She mumbles in monotone, is super boring, and lectures are really repetitive/pointless. NEVER returns work no idea what my grade is, even though we have had a LOT of work ...Continue reading

expect homework. (Due every Monday Wednesday and Friday) plus the labs are extremely hard. Due every week (coding) Your given an hour but it takes at least 2. Then your course project gets a little overwhelming if your group isn't participating. If your trying to fill a GE or an math sci elective. Don't take with this prof a lot of work to stay ok Work load is ridiculous. Having a lab for statistics also makes no sense. She basically writes on the board the whole class period and doesn't let students ask questions. If you go in for office hours she's not helpful at all. Her exams have material she never really taught. Sadly she's the better stats professor. ...Continue reading

She's an amazing professor and makes class interesting. She's tells a lot of interesting stories and expects a lot of participation. Not an easy essay grader, but she gives a lot of feedback to help you improve. Lots of reading, discussions, essays. Don't be late or absent. She loves the class and makes it really exciting. However, the drawback is, she takes the class very seriously. So do not slack off on essays, she is a hard graded. Participate! It will help your grade. Go to office hours! She's an incredible professor. Be ready to do a lot of reading , but it benefits you on your exams. The homework answers are sometimes answers on exams. Worst Professor I've ever had. She is VERY awkward to the point that she almost seems uncomfortable talking to the class. Professor Roberts-Camps teaches a PACS 2 course that I took. Overall, she's a really good professor and generally nice person.

Dr. Hooper is an amazing Bio professor. Her midterms are a bit difficult if you don't study in advance but her final is very easy by comparison.
