Great facilities and there are opportunities if you make them. The people are all friendly and there's help at every corner when you need it: classes, mental health, tudors. The profs aren't your stereotypical ones, most actually care about your grade and your success. The campus is pretty and very safe. To do your best, join clubs and make friends. Unless you are in Greek life, there's nothing to do on campus. I came here b/c this is the closest school to my home & offers the degree I want. They are in the midst of building & are really riding the backs of the students. They take every penny you have & the one's you don't. In fact I know alot of ppl that are fifth year seniors b/c they don't want you to graduate. Great professors, but the school is really trying to grow and compete with the larger schools such as Alabama and Auburn so it seems it is really focused on that. Clean campus, nice buildings, BAD dorms and apartments. Crime is high, police are rediculous ...Continue reading

No complaints with the listed categories. The education you get here is average and nothing special. The food is awful and lacks variety. While the college could be a lot worse, there are much better options in the state and region. I gave it a two in reputation because of the advising in the schools of engineering/computer science. Me and some other friends have ended up taking useless extra courses because our adviser told us to do so. So basically, I paid money to waste my time and lower my GPA as I got a C in an unneeded lit course ...Continue reading

Best OB clinical instructor EVER!! She is funny and wants the students to learn as much as they can. Care plans are easier than Adult 1 without as much paperwork. Best Professor ever! He is super nice and funny. The subjects can get a little boring but he finds a way to keep class interesting. Tests are not unbearable. Chupp is nice to look at, but he isn't that great of a teacher. He can kind of clarify difficult concepts but most of his teaching is kind of boring. Could be because class was 6-9pm. I would totally recommend him over Major though! A lot of homework. Scales some tests and gives some extra credit. Doing launchpad will guarantee you at least a B. ...Continue reading

Mr. Borden is an amazing professor! I would highly recommend taking him. His tests are not extremely difficult, just study over the slides and look at the launchpad homework and you should be fine. He is always willing to meet in office hours if you have a question! He goes through lecture pretty fast but if you study his slides and launchpad you should be fine. He's easy to talk to if you have questions. He offers a lot of extra credit. Mr. Borden is one of the best professors I have ever had. He gives SO many bonus points, you basically can't get below an A. There is weekly homework, but it gives you the answers after the first attempt. Do not take anyone else for General Bio!! He is the absolute best! Gave lots of extra credit opportunities. Always willing to help you! However, attendance is mandatory so to do well you need to go to class. ...Continue reading

Mr. Borden is awesome. Basically you just have to show up to get your attendance points (clicker questions), and do your online homework. He would bend over backwards for you. ...Continue reading

Mr. Major is a great professor and knows a lot about what he does. He offers extra points off lecture. Goes extra mile if u miss tests. However there is a lot of material to study, read. He's very passionate about the subject He truly represents South's core values. He has structured the course so that you learn large amounts of difficult material, yet still make it easy to get an A in the course. He provides power points with extensive notes, so you don't even have to take any. Major is a professor who is too smart for his own good. He writes TERRIBLY hard tests that are VERY specific and keeps you busy all semester long. Not the best professor. He goes off on topics in class as though we are all Biologists, and gets angry when the entire class doesn't have a clue about what he is talking about. He also gives really hard tests which confuse students. DON't TAKE HIM!!! His lectures were awful, he always seemed confused and would back up on everything he would say. First of all if you're not a Biology major, then don't take him at all. Mini exams are super easy if you do the homework and get it right because it is literally the homework pasted onto paper. Littlefield is a GENIUS, BUT his lectures are very uninteresting. He gives a couple extra credit assignments, so make sure you do them. Reading the book is absolutely essential to this class. You will not learn or retain much from the lectures. I am not very good at biology, but I basically had to teach myself. Be prepared to stress and work hard. Make sure you go to class and participate in the clicker questions as well as do the extra credit puzzles he gives each week! Those are easy things that will help your grade. He curves alot, even the final grade! ...Continue reading
