A freight trainis lumbering along at a constant speed of 16.0 m/s.Behind the freight train on the same track is a passengertrain traveling in the same direction at 40.0 m/s.When the front of the passenger train is 58.5 m fromthe back of the freight train, the engineer on the passengertrain recognizes the danger and hits the brakesof his train, causing the train to move with acceleration23.00 m/s2.
