Solved: The single-phase, two-wire lossless line in Figure

Chapter , Problem 13.7

(choose chapter or problem)

The single-phase, two-wire lossless line in Figure 13.3 has a series inductance L _ 2 ? 106 H/m, a shunt capacitance C _ 1:25 ? 1011 F/m, and a 100-km line length. The source voltage at the sending end is a step eGt_ _ 100u1t_ kV with a source impedance equal to the characteristic impedance of the line. The receiving-end load consists of a 100-mH inductor in series with a 1-mF capacitor. The line and load are initially unenergized. Determine (a) the characteristic impedance in W, the wave velocity in m/s, and the transit time in ms for this line; (b) the sending- and receivingend voltage reflection coecients in per-unit; (c) the receiving-end voltage vRt_ as a function of time; and (d) the steady-state receiving-end voltage.
