Wrapping Function Problem: Figure 3-4f shows a unit circle in a uv-coordinate system. Suppose you want to use the angle measure in radians as the independent variable. Imagine the x-axis from an xy-coordinate system placed tangent to the circle. Its origin, x = 0, is at the point (u, v) = (1, 0). Then the x-axis is wrapped around the circle. a. Show where the points x = 1, 2, and 3 on the number line map onto the circle. b. On the sketch from part a, show angles in standard position of 1, 2, and 3 radians. c. Explain how the length of the arc of a unit circle subtended by a central angle of the circle is related to the radian measure of that angle. Figure 3-4f Figure 3-4g
