Research hypothesis It is the hypothesis derived from the researcher’s theory about some social phenomenon. Researchers always believe that their research hypotheses are accurate statements about the condition of the things that they are investigating. However, the theories are only suppositions about the true nature of things, and, thus, hypotheses derived from theories must also be regarded as just tentative suppositions about things until they have been tested. Testing hypotheses means subjecting them to confirmation or disconfirmation. Null hypothesis It is the opposite of research hypothesis. It is also a statement about the reality of things, except that it serves to deny what is explicitly indicated in a given research hypothesis.
