Chapter 3, Problem 19

(choose chapter or problem)

Refer to Exercise 9. Assume that the mass of the rock is \(288.2 \mathrm{~g}\) with negligible uncertainty, the initial volume of water in the cylinder is \(400 \pm 0.1 \mathrm{~mL}\), and the volume of water plus rock is \(516 \pm 0.2 \mathrm{~mL}\). Estimate the density of the rock, and find the relative uncertainty in the estimate.
