Five specimens of untreated wastewater produced at a gas field had an average benzene

Chapter 5, Problem 2

(choose chapter or problem)

Five specimens of untreated wastewater produced at a gas field had an average benzene concentration of \(6.83 \mathrm{mg} / \mathrm{L}\) with a standard deviation of \(1.72 \mathrm{mg} / \mathrm{L}\). Seven specimens of treated wastewater had an average benzene concentration of \(3.32 \mathrm{mg} / \mathrm{L}\) with a standard  deviation of \(1.17 \mathrm{mg} / \mathrm{L}\). Find a \(95 \%\) confidence interval for the reduction in benzene concentration after  treatment.
