There are two major tests of readiness for college: the ACT andthe SAT. ACT scores are reported on a scale from 1 to 36. The distribution of ACTscores in recent years has been roughly Normal with mean = 20.9 and standarddeviation = 4.8. SAT scores are reported on a scale from 400 to 1600. SAT scoreshave been roughly Normal with mean = 1026 and standard deviation = 209.Exercises 3.32 to 3.43 are based on this information.
