15.54 Pulling wood apart. In Exercise 14.26 (page 359), you found a 90% confidenceinterval for the mean load required to pull apart pieces of Douglas fir. Use thisinterval (or calculate it anew here) to answer these questions:(a) Is there significant evidence at the = 0.90 level against the hypothesis thatthe mean is 32,000 pounds for the two-sided alternative?(b) Is there significant evidence at the = 0.90 level against the hypothesis thatthe mean is 31,500 pounds for the two-sided alternative?
