Megan Huffman Professor Reece Comm II 18 April 2017 A&P and Araby There is differences and similarities between the stories of A&P and Araby. The differences that I am going to be covering is the difference on how the boys reacted in each story. The similarities that I am going to be covering is how alike the two stories are. The differences between Araba and A&P is that Araba starts out in the neighborhood and ends in the bazaar; but when the boy finally goes to the bazaar he loses his courage to speak to that beautiful girl he wishes to be with. A&P takes place in the supermarket that is in the middle of the town, far away from the beach; the main character named Sammy tries to defend the girls by telling his boss that he quits and shouldn’t have embarrassed them like that. When he walks out of the store hoping to see them waiting for him; he is meet with an empty parking lot. Another difference that the two stories have is that in Araba the boy only talks about one women but in A&P the boy is talking about three women. The similarities in both short stories are that each boy tried to impress the women by offering something that they thought was valuable to the women; in A&P Sammy defends their honor and in Araby the boy promises a Trinket; but they both failed in their mission to get the girl. In both stories the author describes what is going on in the story so well it feels like you are right there watching it for yourself. Those are the differences and the similarities between the short stories
