33. Tees. Does it matter what kind of tee a golfer places theball on? The company that manufactures Stinger teesclaims that the thinner shaft and smaller head will lessendrag, reducing spin and allowing the ball to travel farther.In August 2003, Golf Laboratories, Inc., comparedthe distance traveled by golf balls hit off regular woodentees to those hit off Stinger tees. All the balls were struckby the same golf club using a robotic device set to swingthe club head at approximately 95 miles per hour. Summarystatistics from the test are shown in the table. Assumethat 6 balls were hit off each tee and that the datawere suitable for inference. Is there evidence that balls hit off the Stinger tees wouldhave a higher initial velocity?
