Explain why units are important in calculations.
Solution 17Q
Step 1:
Units were made for better understanding of the measurements done in different fields. Units act as a guide in the calculation and are able to show if the calculation is off track.
The units must be followed in the calculation, so that the answer is correctly written and understood.Without units, the results are unclear and it is hard to keep track of what each separate measurement describes.
Example : If suppose, we are asked for length of an object, just telling the number does not give clear understanding. Length is expressed in meters, inches, feets and more. So telling measurements with units gives better understanding.
Two of the most important reasons are the following :
(1) they help us to avoid making mistakes in computation.
(2) they serve as a check on computations once they are completed and for better understanding of the measurements.
