Here, we have to choose the more metallic element from each pair. This is explained by the periodic table. In periodic table, metallic character decreases as we move across the table from left to right, and decreases as we move from bottom to top. Based on this let’s identify the more metallic element in each pair.

(a) Sr or Sb :

Among Sr(Strontium) and Sb(Antimony), Sr is located on the extreme left and Sb is located on right  of the periodic table. Since the metallic character decreases as we move across left to right in the periodic table, Sr is more metallic element in the pair.

(b) As or Bi :

Among As(Arsenic) and Bi(Bismuth), both As and Bi is located on the right of the periodic table, but As is located above Bi. Since the metallic character decreases as we move from bottom to top in the periodic table, Bi is more metallic element in the pair.

(c) Cl or O :

Among Cl(Chlorine) and O(Oxygen), both Cl and O is located on the right of the periodic table, but Cl is located below O.
