Here, we are going to explain polar covalent bond.

In case of heteronuclear molecules(containing different atoms), the shared electron pair between the two atoms gets displaced more towards the more electronegative atom. The resultant covalent bond is called polar covalent atom.

As a result of polarity, the more electronegative atom acquires a partial negative charge whereas the less electronegative atom acquires a partial positive charge as shown
