Comparing distances Starting at the same time and place (t

Chapter 1, Problem 48RE

(choose chapter or problem)

Comparing distances Starting at the same time and place (t = 0 and s = 0), the velocity of car A is given by u(t)=40/(t + 1) (mi/hr) and the velocity of car B is given by \(v(t)=40 e^{-t / 2}\) (mi/hr).

a. After t = 2 hr, which car has traveled the greater distance?

b. After t = 3 hr, which car has traveled the greater distance?

c. If allowed to travel indefinitely \((t \rightarrow \infty)\), which car will travel a finite distance?
