(a) RbIO2

RbIO2 contains both the ionic (Rb-O) and covalent (O-I) bond. Rb-O is ionic due to the difference in large electronegativity between Rb and O whereas IO2-is polyatomic anion having I-O covalent bond by sharing of electrons between them.

The Lewis structure for  RbIO2 is given below,

Valence electron of I = 7

Valence electron for O = 6

Valence electron for Rb =1

Total valence electrons = 1+ 7+ 6x2 = 20 e

(b) Ca(OH)2

Ca(OH)2 contains both the ionic (Ca-O) and covalent (O-H) bond. Ca-O is ionic due to the difference in large electronegativity between Ca and O. An O-H bond can ionize in some cases. There is already a negative charge on oxygen in OH. So it is more difficult to put a second negative charge on the oxygen by ionizing the O-H bond as well.
