Volume of oxygen = 156.8 ml = 0.1568 L

2 Ca(s) + O2(g) → 2 CaO(s)

We will have to find out the mass of Ca consume in the given reaction.

At STP (standard temp and pressure, 0 deg C and 1 atm) 1 mole of any ideal gas occupies a volume of 22.4 L

So moles O2 = volume (L) / 22.4 L/mol

= 0.1568 L / 22.4 L mol-1 

= 0.007 mol O2 

The balanced equation shows that 1 mole O2 reacts with 2 moles Ca

So moles Ca = 2  moles...
