What is the boiling point of a liquid? What is the normal boiling point?
Here, we are going to discuss the boiling point of a liquid.
On heating a liquid, its particles absorbs energy resulting in an increase in kinetic energy. Further heating helps the liquid particles to break their bonds with other particles. These particles, are then released as vapour and exerts pressure in the container. This pressure is called vapour pressure.
The temperature at which this vapour pressure becomes equal to the external pressure surrounding the liquid is called boiling point of that liquid.
