concentration of sodium in the soft drink in mass percent = ?

Here, solute = sodium and solvent = water.

Amount of solute = 32 mg

Amount of solvent = 309 g

Formula to find mass percent :

        Mass percent =  100 %

Here, the amount of solute, sodium (Na) is given in mg, so let’s convert to g :

        1 g = 1000 mg

Hence 32 mg in g will be :

        = 32 mg

        = 0.032 g.
