Kicking a field goal An American football player wants to kick a field goal with the ball being on a right hash mark. Assume that the goal posts are b feet apart and that the hash mark line is a distance a > 0 feet from the right goal post. (See the accompanying figure.) Find the distance h from the goal post line that gives the kicker his largest angle Assume that the football field is flat.
