3.Number the parent chain while giving more priority and lesser number to the substituent group.

4.Then we have to designate the location of each substituents by appropriate number and name.

5.Then we have to arrange the name of the substituents in alphabetical order.

6.The prefixes di, tri, tetra etc used to represent several groups of same kind.
