Step 1 Aneroid barometers can measure both altitude and atmospheric pressure. We know that the atmospheric pressure will change according to the change in altitude. If the elevation changes, the aneroid barometer can sense the change in elevation since the pressure is changing and it will show the corresponding change in atmospheric pressure since the altitude and atmospheric pressure are related.
