Solution 53E Step 1 In this question, we have to write what will happen if we blew in between two dangling papers. So, initially the papers were at rest and the pressure between them was same as that of the surrounding atmospheric pressure as per figure 1. When blow air in between these dangling papers, the air molecules in between the dangling papers will move faster than the surrounding air. So, if it move faster, as per the Bernoulli’s principle, it will create a low pressure area in between the dangling papers. According to the Bernoulli’s principle, the fluid pressure will get lowered when the flow velocity increases. If the air pressure decreases, the air will move from high pressure area to low pressure area. This will result in a flow of air from high pressure surroundings to low pressure paper space. So, the papers will come closer as per figure 2. Conclusion The dangling papers will come closer if air is blew in between them according to the Bernoulli’s principle.
