Breathing air that contains 0.13% CO by volume for 30 minutes will cause death. CO can form by incomplete combustion of carbon-containing compounds. Calculate the minimum volume of octane (C8H18, a component of gasoline, which has a density of 0.70 g/mL) that must burn to produce this composition of CO in a garage of volume 40 m3 at 298 K and 1.0 atm.
