When the object is rotating, to stay on the same path, two forces need to be in equilibrium- have the same intensity and the opposite direction. Those two forces are centripetal and centrifugal force.

Step 2</p>

Centripetal force is dragging the object toward the center of the circle in the direction of the radius.

Centrifugal force is „ejecting“ the object from the circular path in the direction of the radius. That is how the washing machine is removing the water from the laundry.
